Doberfields

Our shop was born from our love for our two Dobermans, whom we raised from puppies. We wanted the best for them, so we explored raw feeding and natural nutrition. Now, we offer carefully selected natural dog food and treats—thoughtfully chosen, so your pets get the best.

Doberfields

Dobefield Shop is more than a business—it’s a treasured part of our family’s story. For 45 years, it was my mum and dad’s off-licence and greengrocer, a place where neighbors met, stories were shared, and trust grew. When my parents’ health declined, I returned to care for them, and it was my mum’s idea to reopen. Today, we continue that spirit—so if you ever need advice or have any questions, we’re always here to support you on your raw feeding journey.

We welcome you and your dog to visit the shop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Raw feeding usually involves offering uncooked meat, organs, and sometimes bones, mimicking a natural diet

A general guideline is about 2 to 3 percent of the dog’s body weight per day, but it varies based on age and activity.

Yes, we can weigh your dog so we can work out how much raw food they would need a day.

No, it’s important to choose commercial products labeled as complete and balanced, not just random supermarket mince.

Yes, handle raw food like human raw meat—use separate utensils, wash surfaces thoroughly.

Yes, but only raw bones. Never feed cooked bones, as cooking makes them brittle and prone to splintering, which can cause choking or severe internal injuries. Raw bones remain flexible, but you should supervise your dog while they chew.

A standard, balanced raw diet generally consists of roughly 80% muscle meat, 10% raw bone, and 10% secreting organs (with half of that being liver). Many pre-made commercial blends already include this exact ratio, often adding a small portion (around 20%) of blended vegetables and botanicals

This is perfectly normal! Because raw meat and organs naturally contain high levels of moisture, your dog will require less supplemental drinking water than they would on dry kibble. Always keep a fresh bowl available, but do not be alarmed by the decreased intake.

Opinions are mixed. Raw food and kibble digest at different rates and require different stomach pH levels. While many dogs successfully eat a mix, some may experience digestive upsets. It is generally advised to transition slowly or feed them at completely separate times of the day.

Choose a trusted brand with a complete and balanced label, transition gradually over a week or so, and monitor your dog’s response.
